5 Ways to Work Smarter not Harder

Everyone in the world has just 24 hours in a day to get all of their business done. However, with work, kids, a spouse, taking care of a home and everything else we put on ourselves it seems we have much less time than ever. That’s why it’s so important to work smarter not harder. No matter how many hours you have each week to work on your home based business here are a few tips that will help you get the most out of your work time.

Tip Number One - Keywords!

Keywords are so important to the life of your online business. They are what will allow you to do something once and have people find it online for months and months and years and years. For example, you make a Youtube video talking about your business.

If you don’t use any keywords maybe a few people will stumble upon it and check it out. However, if you use the right keywords THOUSANDS of people might see that video. People can even be looking at your blog, video, website or articles while you’re sitting on a beach somewhere on vacation. Now that’s what I call working smarter!

Tip Number Two - Skip The Ads

While free online classifieds like Backpage and Craigslist are free of charge they don’t give you the most for your time because you have to do them over and over again in order for them to be effective. When working online you want to find things that you can do once and never have to do again.

Tip Number Three - Blog

It amazes me just how many people own a home based business but never take the time to make a blog or update it. A blog post should literally only take about 15 minutes, quick and simple. Even if you’re not a good writer you should be able to knock out a couple of blog posts a week and if you do it will pay off especially if you use keywords.

Tip Number Four - Articles

Once of the most tried and true methods of generating prospects online is article marketing. It’s free and if you’re not a good writer you can always buy home based business PLR articles that you can re-write a bit and us as your own. Article marketing might take a bit more time to submit to directories but they work so well because the articles stay up for years and years and will continue to grow your business for you even if you’re not working.

Tip Number Five - Take Small Breaks

You’ll be more effective, creative and work harder if you allow yourself small breaks while you’re working try giving yourself a 15 minute break ever hour and a half. Any longer and you might stop working all together, any shorter and it won’t really feel like a break at all.

Your Journey to Success

It’s a cold hard fact that when you begin your journey to success in a home based business you’re going to hear a few snickers here and there. You might even have people in your life who will down right laugh at you and tell you it’s not possible. However, if you can learn to ignore these negative influences you could end up having the last laugh yourself.

I don’t know exactly why it is that whenever people decide to do something that’s a little bit out of the ordinary it makes others so uncomfortable but it really does. People are comfortable with their jobs. Having a boss, having an office and having a steady paycheck are what 99% of the world deems to be safe and normal.

The idea of giving up all of that to start your own business might seem a little crazy to some people because they don’t fully understand it. There are people in the world who were simply born to be employees and there’s nothing wrong with that, you will just have to learn to ignore it when people question you because the rewards of working from home are more than worth it!

If you’ve ever been hurt by the negative feelings of friends or family you should take all of that negative energy and channel it into working even harder to prove them wrong. Nobody can argue with results and when people see that you’re making more money, driving a better can and all around living a better life they’ll be forced to eat their words.

There can not be rewards in life without taking some risks. It may seem right now that you’re doing something completely crazy but if you work hard and continue to grow you’ll start to see the results more and more and so will everyone else around you. Ignore what the negative voices tell you and you’ll end up laughing all the way to the bank.

Top 3 Types of Women in MLM

There are three very different types of women in the network marketing or home based business industry. Do you know what they are? Better yet do you know who YOU are? If not keep on reading to find out.

The Dreamers

The dreamers make up a lot of the network marketing industry and the truth is they aren’t limited to women. The dreamers are the people who say they want success but aren’t really ever going to go after it full force. Most dreamers will attend meetings and conference calls but they lack the courage or confidence to take their business to the next level. It’s sad because the dreamers could have an amazing future working from home but it is their fear and their self doubt that hold them back.

You have to watch out for the dreamers too because they have a tendency to bring people down with them. Once you’ve seen one dreamer you’ve seen them all and they’ll become very easy to spot. A whole lot of talking and pretty much zero action.

The Workers

The workers are women who work outside the home. They’re use to dealing with the business world and they’re savvy. The workers know what it takes to succeed in business and they’ll do whatever it takes to make it happen. They’re usually motivated by nice things like big homes, fancy cars and designer clothes. A worker is someone to be watched because they’re going places.

They might seem like a dreamer at times but the difference is they’re actually doing the work to back up their claims.

The Moms

The moms make up everything that is awesome about working from home. They’re able to build a business, keep up with their friends and be a great mom all at the same time.

The difference between a dreamer and a mom is that they, like the workers, won’t stop until they see their dreams become reality. They have a great “why” in their children and they’ll do anything they can to provide a great life for them. If you’ve got a hard working mom on your hands watch out!

So there are the three different types of women in MLM which one are you?

7 Reasons you Will Not Make Money in MLM this Year

The Top 7 Reasons Why You WON’T Make Money In MLM This Year

There are a lot of reasons why people fail in a home based business. And more often than not the reason why they fail has absolutely nothing to do with the company or the product. There are a few simple mistakes people can make that will stop them from making the money they deserve this year in their home based business. Here are the top 7 reasons why you won’t make money in MLM this year.

7. You’re too hard on yourself

Nobody is perfect and nobody knows every thing about everything when it comes to the product the compensation plan or the company history. So often we are just too stinking hard on ourselves. Give yourself a little wiggle room and understand that no one is perfect so when we screw up or don’t know the answer to something it doesn’t make us stupid it just makes us human.

6. You’re scared of the internet

If you’re reading this article chances are you at least know your way around the internet somewhat. However, so many people are scared to death to get online and that’s holding their business back. It’s the new millennium and everyone should be doing their business online!

5. You won’t set goals

If you want to accomplish anything in life you have to have goals. So if you’re not setting goals you’re not going to get very far. Write them down and know them well, they’ll help you through the tough times.

4. You’re wasting your money

You don’t have to buy expensive lists of leads or spend a lot of money on a newspaper ad to be successful. Some of the best prospects come from the internet and best of all they’re 100% free!

3. You’re keeping your business a secret

If you have a business you should be sharing it! Friends, family, and anyone else you know should be the first people you tell. Don’t be ashamed of what you’re doing. There is nothing shameful about trying to live a better life!

2. You’re no working enough

Just because you work part time from home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t work plenty of hours every week. 1 or 2 hours a week isn’t going to be enough to get you to your goals. At least not anytime soon. You should be working at least 15-20 hours every week and more if you want to get there faster!

1. You’re not fully committing

If you treat this like a hobby you’ll never make the kind of money that you could. You HAVE to treat your business like a business to see real results and you have to commit 100% to the system. Halfway just won’t cut it!

Improve yourself; Improve your business

Most people who are in a home based business are looking and searching for a way to take their business to the next level. If you want to do that you need look no further than looking at yourself. When you improve yourself you’ll totally be able to improve your business almost overnight.

It’s not always easy but it’s always worth it. Improving yourself doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with you or that you aren’t good at what you’re doing. But people should constantly be improving themselves if they want to continue to grow in their business.

So what are some ways that you can improve upon yourself? Maybe you need a boost in confidence. Many people do and when you bring your confidence to the next level your business won’t be able to stop it’s self from growing. Some people need to learn how to listen better or take direction.

Still others need to stop procrastinating. Whatever it is that you want to work on there are probably a ton of websites that you can visit for free or books and ebooks that you can purchase that will help you get where you want to go.

Try not to focus on improving 5 different things at once just work on one at a time and when you feel that you’ve mastered one move on to the other. Also, don’t just read a book and then forget about it. Really try to learn and retain what you’ve read and use it in your everyday life as well as your business.

You can also read a ton of books on how to be successful in business although, honestly most people need to be less focus on their business skills and more focused on their life skills.

Once you start to see an improvement in yourself an improvement in your check is soon to follow. So take a good hard look at yourself and start working to make yourself a better person because when you do you’ll see a whole lot more success in your home based business.

How Much Money Will I have to Spend to Work At Home

If you’re thinking about joining a home based business there are a few questions you’re probably asking yourself. Can I really do this? What will my spouse think? Which business is right for me? And of course… how much money will I have to spend to have success in a home based business?

All of these questions are important and should be thought about but I’d like to focus on the last one. Over time I’ve come across a lot of different people who want to work from home and almost all of them believe that working from home either has to be A) Free or B) extremely expensive. That’s why I’m here to tell you that it’s neither.

Let’s start with the first one because it really is a huge misconception that I want to bust right here and right now. There isn’t a business out there anywhere that you can start and not spend a dime. That my friends is called a JOB and there are plenty of them out there. A business always…. And I stress ALWAYS costs money to start.

You couldn’t open a clothing store or a restaurant without money up front right? Well a home based business is no different. I’ve read many an article saying that if a business asks you for money up front it’s a scam and that’s just so far from the truth it’s unreal. If you don’t invest some money you’re not in a business… period end of story.

They say it takes money to make money and that’s true so after your initial start up costs you may have to spend a little bit of money here and there just on basic marketing needs. Not a fortune but a little here and there.

That brings me to the second misconception. That starting a home based business costs a fortune. If you’re going to start your own business a home based business is the way to go. You won’t find another legitimate business you can start that will be any more cost effective. We’re talking less than $1000 here people. To start a real… honest…. Can make you filthy rich business! It just doesn’t get any better than that!

So in the question of how much money will it cost to make money from home here is my answer… less than $1000 to start (in many cases less than $500) and probably $50 - $100 a month to maintain. Now that’s a life changing opportunity that almost anyone can afford!

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Believe it or not even if you’re the most confident person you can think of you have a comfort zone. And more often than not that comfort zone can be holding you back from greatness. So it’s important that you find your comfort zone as soon as you can and learn how to get out of it. When you get out of your comfort zone there is no limit to what you can accomplish.

First of all everyone has a different comfort zone. Some people hate talking to strangers while other people don’t mind at all. Some people could sell anything to a stranger but hate trying to sell their friends or family. Whatever your particular comfort zone is it’s important to discover it and then leave it as quickly as you can.

Who knows exactly why we’re afraid to do certain things. Maybe we just care all too much what people really think of us. Maybe we just don’t want to make a mistake. But when you’re trying so hard not to make a mistake you usually don’t take very many chances and that’s a sure fire way to never reach your goals.

Business is all about taking chances, big, giant, sometimes even costly chances. None of the great companies in the U.S. would have been created without people who were willing to step outside of their comfort zone and take some chances. Maybe you’re not trying to invent the next Google or Microsoft but just the same you need to start taking more chances and getting a little uncomfortable if you really want that truly mind blowing, unbelievable success.

Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb… that’s where the fruit is!

Leave your comfort zone behind and start breaking new ground in your home based business. Remember, it’ll only feel uncomfortable until the money comes rolling in!
