Top 4 Things Your Boss Dosent Want You to Know About Networking

If you have a regular job this could be one of the most important articles you’ll ever read. That’s because I’m about to break down for you the top 4 things your boss doesn’t want you to know about network marketing. If you’re reading this while at work… beware. Your boss would do anything to keep these secrets hidden so listen closely because this article could get taken down at any time!

Secret Number One: Network marketing allows you to get rich with a lot less effort

Don’t get me wrong. Network marketing takes effort. However, it doesn’t take nearly as much effort as working at a job for 10, 20 or 30 years! If you want to make 6 figures and you want to make it while you’re still young enough to enjoy it network marketing is perfect for you.

Secret Number Two: Network marketing allows you to get rich a whole lot faster

I’m sure you’ve heard the speech about how important it is to pay your dues. Work hard enough and long enough and the success will come. Well network marketing allows you to get rich in less time than it takes someone to earn a 4 year degree.

Secret Number Three: Network marketing is so easy anyone can do it

Your boss would love for you to believe that you can’t be successful working from home. However, the truth is that anyone regardless of background or education can be extremely successful. You don’t have to be extra special or any certain type of personality literally anyone can get rich with network marketing if they really want to.

Secret Number Four: Network marketing isn’t a gamble

Your boss would love for you to believe that network marketing is such a big gamble that people would be crazy to take the chance. However, when you learn how to market effectively online and you put in the time and effort network marketing really isn’t a gamble at all.

The truth is that if you are willing to put in the time and effort network marketing really isn’t a gamble at all. At least no more of a gamble than working at a job and trying to climb the corporate ladder.

So now you know the truth. Don’t say we never told you!

How to Make the Best Youtube Videos for your Business

Video is a powerful medium and it works for huge companies when they advertise during the superbowl and it can work for your home based business on online sites like Youtube. So how do you get the most out of your online videos? Here are a few ways to make better you tube videos and get the most out of online video marketing.

First of all lets talk about length. The perfect Youtube video should be between 3 and 5 minutes. Any shorter and it will seems like you don’t have any value and any longer and people will start to tune out. So no more long 9 minute videos rambling on and on about your business keep it short!

Also, Youtube is not the place to give out all the information about your business. You don’t have to do the entire sales pitch. The main point behind a Youtube video is to get the person interested enough to either pick up and phone and call you or visit a website that will have more detailed information. That’s why you want to keep your videos short and interesting. You don’t want to go into a lot of detail because you can talk about that later. Just peak their interests, that’s enough.

Another good tip is that funny is always good. There are a million videos out there of people sitting in a boring office at a boring desk talking about boring things. If you really want to get peoples attention try to add some humor and craziness to your video that way people will remember you, they might pass your video on and they’ll probably be interested in at least finding out more about you or your business.

The final tip is to use keywords in your description and your title. The keywords will help people to find your videos. There are so many Youtube videos that if you don’t use keywords you might not end up getting very many views. So really do your research before you post your video and use keywords that people will be searching for.

I hope that these tips help you get a lot of views and gain a ton of prospects by using Youtube or any other online video site.

Is Network Marketing A Scam? An Honest Review Of This Controversial Industry

If you have been wanting to work from home for a while you’ve probably taken a good look at network marketing. But what’s hard about trying to get information about this industry is that everyone seems to have very different opinions about network marketing, if it works and if it’s really even legal. So I set out to write an article about the truth about network marketing. There is no sales pitch here and I have no agenda other than letting the truth be out there. So here goes…

Network marketing is a simple and completely legal form of business. It pretty much works like this. You have a product that you market and while you’re doing that you’re also building a team of more people who want to market that product. By building a team of people who are marketing the products for you, they make money and you make money.

This all sounds simple enough so why do so many people believe that network marketing is a scam. I believe it’s for two reasons.

The first reason is that it costs money to get started in almost all network marketing companies. This causes a whole lot of confusion for people who are use to having jobs. A home based business like network marketing is just that… a business. It’s not a job and that’s where the confusion really lies I believe. Jobs don’t cost money to start, but businesses do. So if you are going to be involved in network marketing you need to be aware of the fact that you’re going to be starting your own business.

The second thing that is hard for some people to deal with is that network marketing is almost completely driven by commission. Commissions from the products you sell and commissions from bringing people into the business with you. So if you’re not working you’re not going to make any money. Unlike a job where you can show up, do very little and still get paid. (at least for a while before they fire you! )

So when you combine those two things, the fact that you have to pay to get started and the fact that your success is not guaranteed if you don’t work, people tend to get confused and call it a scam. But it’s really not at all.

In fact if you are looking for a way to make money from home and have an unlimited income there is no better way of doing that then network marketing.

Are You Setting Yourself Apart?

Are You Setting Yourself Apart From The MLM Crowd?

Let’s face it. There are a ton of people in network marketing today and for the most part they’re all offering the same thing.

Work from home, spend more time with your family, make six figures, take better vacations, be your own boss….

So if you’re going to jump into the home based business game you have to ask yourself something. What is going to set you and your business apart from everyone else?

Now before you say your product let me stop you right there. A product is never what gets someone into a home based business. Yes, some products are better than others. And yes, some products will have better conversion than others. However, what really gets someone truly excited about a home based business isn’t the great product it’s the great opportunity.

You can have the lamest product in the history of network marketing but if you can teach me how to make $100,000 a year with it I’m in!

What sets you apart for the other people in your company and all the other people in all the other companies out there is what is going to be the difference between success and failure.

This is especially true for people who want to build their home based business on the internet. There is so much work from home stuff online that if you don’t have a clear niche or a smart gimmick to make you stand out you will be lost in the endless sea of spam.

So now that you know you need something how do you go about getting it?

Well first I would tell you to think about who you are because 9 times out of 10 that’s the key to unlocking your perfect niche!

Maybe you’re a single mom who wants to stay home with her three kids.

Maybe you’re a blue collar worker who is tired of working hard all his life and having little to show for it.

Maybe you’re a teacher who loves the kids but hates the teeny tiny paycheck.

Maybe you’re a college student who doesn’t want to get a crappy part time job but instead is working from your dorm room to pay for school.

Whatever it is that makes you you… play that up!

If you’re a stay at home mom you should be talking to other stay at home moms! If you’re someone who has been in 10 different network marketing companies but you’re still trying to create true wealth you should be talking to people whose stories are similar. And if you’re a young 20 something you shouldn’t be trying to sell 40 year olds on the concept of working from home you should be talking to young adults just like you!

You don’t have to be all things to all people. Find who you are and what makes your story special and use that as the gimmick that will set you far apart from the network marketing heap.

Set yourself apart and be authentically you and building your business will become a breeze!

Are Your Fears Holding You Back?

Are you afraid of failing in your home based business?

Let me ask you something even more disturbing.. Are you afraid to SUCCEED in your home based business?

Whatever your fears are they could seriously be holding you back from greatness. Whether we want to admit it or not fear is a huge motivator. If you’re being motivated by fear of any kind you can never truly be successful in your business.

Here are the two major forms of fear and how to stop them!

Fear Of Failure

Fear of failure is a very common thing. Almost all people are afraid of failing on some level. However, the people I am talking about are the people who let their fear cripple them to the point where they don’t do anything at all. They are afraid to take a risk in any capacity because they are afraid if they do they will fail. This type of fear will never allow you to accomplish anything wonderful in your life. It will stop you every chance it gets. That’s why you have to stop IT first.

How To Overcome It!

Unfortunately there really is no easy way to face this type of fear. The only think you can really do is stare fear in the eyes and do whatever it is your afraid to do anyway. You also have to give yourself permission to mess up from time to time. Just because you don’t sign up the first few people you talk to doesn’t mean you’re a failure. In fact the only way you can really fail is if you give up and quit. If you refuse to do that failing is just not an option at all!

Fear Of Success

Nobody in their right mind would really honestly believe that they are afraid of success however many people truly are. People place all kinds of limitations on themselves. Many people believe that they will only ever be able to make $40,000 or $50,000 a year and so the idea of exceeding that scares them a bit. I know it sounds crazy but it’s really much more common than we’d like to believe.

How To Overcome It!

Realize that you have no limitations except the ones you put on yourself. If you put your ceiling at $75,000 how do you ever expect to make it to $100,000? You can’t… it’s impossible. But, as soon as you raise that ceiling and give yourself permission to be excellent you will be!

Don’t let fear control your life and your business anymore. Gain control from fear and doubt and your business will be much more likely to succeed!

Are You Preventing Yourself from Success??

The mind is a powerful, powerful thing. And a home based business is either a failure or a success based on how your mindset is. If you believe that you are going to fail you defiantly will and if you believe you’re going to be a huge success you’ll do that too. Most people who are holding themselves back have no idea why. That’s when they want to blame it on the product or the company or the person who brought them into the business. However, it usually doesn’t have anything to do with those reasons. Instead the problem most likely lies with the person themselves.

So with all that being said I want to ask you a question… Do you really believe you can make money online?

If you’re reading this article you’re either A) already involved in a home based business of some kind and probably looking for some advice to help you make more money or B) thinking about joining a home based business but you want to check it all out first.

Whichever category you fall into the first thing you need to do is fix your mindset to prepare yourself for the success that working from home can bring.

If you’re not already in a business you must first find the belief in yourself before joining a company. This is because if you come into a business without full belief in yourself you are setting yourself up for a huge failure. You simply can not be successful in a home based business if you don’t believe in yourself.

So how do you fix this problem before it ruins your business?

For starters you can start looking at the things that you’ve accomplished in your life. I don’t know you but I do know that if you take a good look at everything you’ve ever done you’re sure to find some really positive things.

Maybe you’ve been a great husband, or a great parent or maybe you’re a great employee at your current job… anything that can help you see that you’re capable of great things.

Also, take a look at some of the people who are extremely successful working from home. Stay at home moms with no college degree, people who were unemployed, college students, high school drop outs…

The great thing about a home based business is that anyone no matter where they came from or what their background is can be extremely successful in a home based business as long as they work hard and believe in themselves.

Don’t let your lack of self belief stop you from becoming great in your business. Once you believe you can achieve anything!

How to Talk to Coworkers About Your Business

Of everyone that you know co-workers might be the hardest to talk to about your home based business. It can be frustrating to work along side people who would be great in your business but you aren’t sure how to approach them about it because you don’t want to get in trouble at work. So how exactly do you go about talking to the people you work with about your home based business without becoming a laughing stock or worse getting in trouble with your boss? Here are a few tips that should help you out when talking to co-workers.

1. Keep It Casual

Don’t come storming into your workplace talking about how your going to be out of there in a few months and go into a huge sales pitch. Try to keep everything as casual as possible. It’s totally fine to mention that you’re doing something part time from home and talk about it with your co-workers just as long as the boss doesn’t think you’re trying to take their entire office away. Keep any talk of your business light, fun and casual at work and most people won’t mind.

2. Don’t Pass Anything Out

It’s usually a good idea not to bring any flyers or brochures to work with you. Anything that could get passed around is generally not a good idea.

3. Make It Clear That You’re Not Leaving

Whenever you’re talking about your home based business try to make it clear that you’re doing it part time to make more money for yourself and your family. You don’t have to tell anyone that you’re thinking about leaving once you become more successful. You don’t want to get passed over for a promotion or a raise because your boss thinks your leaving the company in a month or two. It takes a while to build a business so don’t let everyone at work know you’re halfway out the door until you’re really ready to leave.

4. Do It Outside Of The Office

If you want to talk to someone in greater detail or you want to single someone out who you feel would be a really great fit for your business. Try doing it somewhere out of the office. For instance on a lunch break or after work over a few drinks. When you’re out of the four walls of your actual office building you’ll be able to speak much more freely and without the fear of consequences.

If you follow these four tips you should be able to speak to your co-workers in a way that is appropriate for the workplace.

Message Board and Forum Marketing Tips

If you are involved in a home based business and you want an endless supply of people to market to you may not find a better source than an online message board for forum. There are so many forums online and when you find the right ones you can generate an endless stream of prospects easily and for free.

Here are a few tips that will help you when marketing your home based business on an online forum or community.

1. Contribute before you ad a signature. If you make it clear that the only reason you’re on the forum is to get your website noticed people will get annoyed by you. You need to start out by posting answers to other peoples questions as well as starting your own threads BEFORE you ad a link to your website in your signature. This will show people that you want to be a legitimate part of the community and you’re not just looking for sign ups.

2. Use your picture as your avatar. This is a small thing that I have found to make a big difference. Internet marketing can be so impersonal. Let them see the real you. It will help them trust you more and give you instant credibility.

3. Don’t spam. There really isn’t very much that needs to be said about this. Spam is annoying and it won’t get you any sign ups. Just don’t do it. It’s not worth your time and it will ruin your reputation on the forum.

4. Try to be as friendly and helpful as possible. If you know the answer to a question answer it. Even if it doesn’t have anything to do with your business it doesn’t matter contribute as much as possible and make sure people know that you care about them.

5. Make sure you follow the forum rules. If it says right in the rules that you’re not allowed to promote your business don’t do it… end of story. Some forums are good places to get information about online marketing but they’re ad free for a reason. Don’t go against the rules or you’ll get banned. It’s just not worth it.

Success in Home Business with a Family

For a lot of people finding time to work their home based business is hard thing to do, people are so busy these days. However, for men and women who have young children in the house the job of finding time for your business can be even harder… but not impossible. In this article we’ll be giving you a handful of way that you can successfully build an income from home even if you have kids!

Tip #1 – Naptime!

This one is pretty obvious, if you have small children in the house naptime just might be your favorite time of the day! Even if your kids don’t nap for that long it will still give you some child-free time to make calls, market online, answer emails or however else you market from home.

Sometimes all you need is 15 or 20 minutes to get a good amount of work done, now obviously this shouldn’t be the only thing you do for your business all day but it’s a start. If you have any prospects to call back this is an especially good time to do that because talking on the phone is usually easier while the kids are asleep.

Try to make the most out of your kids naptime by getting things ready to go while they are awake so that when they go down you can get right to work and get the most out of your time. That means getting the names and numbers of the people you need to call back, or just getting things organized in general.

Tip #2 – Mommy/ Daddy Day

Sending your children to have a special day with just mommy or daddy can be a great way to give the other parent time alone to work on their business. Most parents I know would LOVE to spend a day with their kids at the park, going to see a movie or hanging out at an amusement park.

By scheduling these special trips every couple of weeks it will give you an entire uninterrupted day of work… and that can go REALLY far when you’re trying to build a business!

If you and your spouse are separated you might have set days when you know your children will be with their other parent… USE THAT TIME. If you’re still together it would be best to sit down with your spouse an work out a time when the other parent can have some one on one time with the kids therefore giving you lots of time to get things done at the house.

This is also awesome for the child because they get to spend a fun day alone with mommy or daddy and those are memories they’ll have forever!

Tip #3 – DVD’s Are Your FRIEND

Now I’m not saying to let the T.V. parent your kids. However, there’s nothing wrong with allowing your kids to pick out a fun movie, pop some popcorn and sit them in front of the T.V. from time to time.

Let me say it again, when you are trying to build a business… DVD’s are your FRIEND! Use them! Depending on the age and the attention span of your child that can give you anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half of pure uninterrupted work time and that will go a long way.

Tip #4 – Crafts

Kids LOVE to do arts and crafts. Even children who tend to be a little hyper will usually settle down to make something especially when they get to use their hands and be creative.

Of course you’ll have to find the right crafts for the right age range but once you do it will not only give you some good work time but it will be fun for your kids as well. Keep in mind that if you have your kids working in one room that might not be the best time to start making calls because there will probably be some supervising that needs to take place. It is a good time, however, to organize things or perhaps do different kinds of online marketing that you can stop and start at your leisure.

Tip #5 - Early Bedtimes and Strategic Calling

Our final tip is like naptime, it’s pretty obvious. Depending on what time your kids go to bed and what time zone you live in bedtime can be a GREAT time to catch up on calls and just get things done in general.

Now I’m not telling you to send your kids to bed earlier than they normally go but, let’s say they go to bed at 8:00 PM. If you live in the Eastern time Zone that’s only 5:00 PM Pacific or 6:00 Mountain or 7:00 Central… THAT’S PRIME CALLING TIME!

Remember when you’re making phone calls or doing marketing of any kind that you are not limited to your time zone just because it’s too late to make calls in one time zone doesn’t mean you might not be able to call people who live in another.

Of course this rule does go both ways. You will need to be aware of what time it is in other time zones and make sure you’re not calling people where it is 3 hours later!

If you organize yourself well throughout the day you should have everything organized and ready to go so that when the kids go to bed you will at least have a couple good hours of work time.

I hope that these tips have been helpful in allowing you to find time to work your home based business as much as possible while still being an awesome mom or dad. Also please remember that your kids are probably one of the main reasons you’re working your business anyway. The more time you spend in the early stages of your business building your income the more time you’ll be free to spend with them down the road for years to come!

What is Your Back Up Plan?

In today’s world with the economy the way it is many people are starting to ask themselves, what’s my Plan B? If you’re one of those people listen up, because I’m about to tell you how making money from home with the help of a home based business could be just the answer you’re looking for.

It’s a sad thing to say but right now there really isn’t such a thing as “job security”. I’m not trying to scare you or cause you any worry but it’s true. People are getting laid off in massive numbers these days due to the crunch in the economy, and your job no matter what it is could be next.

So what can you do NOW to make sure you and your family will be ok if that time ever comes? (and I hope it doesn’t).

Many people are investing in a home based business right now so that if anything should ever happen to their steady paycheck they’ll have something to fall back on. It’s easy to take your job for granted while you have it but what if the day comes when your boss can no longer afford to pay you? What would happen to you and your family?

Get the information you need right now, to ensure that you’ll have the money to pay your bills, today, tomorrow and forever!

Home based businesses tend to get a bad rap. Many people look at them as scams or schemes but the people who are involved in them know that it truly is the best way of making money!

Along with the financial security which can be invaluable in times like these, home based businesses also allow you to live the kind of live you’ve always dreamed of.

What do I mean by that? Imagine being able to go on vacation with your family whenever you want! How awesome would it be if you could leave when you want to leave, stay as long as you want to stay and actually have the money to do whatever it is you want to do? A home based business can provide that for you.

Last year and this year alone millions of people were laid of, and of those millions and millions how many people are now facing financial ruin? Probably most of them sadly, however if they had the power of a secondary income from a home based business coming in their time out of work would have been a whole lot easier.

Again, this article is not meant to scare you or bully you into joining a business you don’t want to join. However, I hope you’ll understand that home business success IS real and it could be just what you and your family need one day.

Start getting more information about working from home today, you can start part time and build an income that could potentially be LIFE CHANGING!

Why Choose Network Marketing

So, you’ve decided you want to start working from home but you’re not really sure how to go about it? There are a ton of reasons why so many people crave the freedom of making money from home.

One reason is of course money, when you work from home you control your income. You work hard, you get paid… you work harder, you get paid MORE! It’s a beautiful thing! That kind of freedom is something that you’ll never get on a traditional J.O.B. where the boss tells you how much you get paid and that’s that.

Another popular reason for working from home is spending more time with your family, spouse, children or just doing what you want to do WHEN you want to do it.

Finally some people want to work from home because they want to be their own boss, and that certainly is a great reason. Not having to punch a time sheet or have a set lunch hour, no deadlines or boss breathing down your neck. It’s true… working from home really is the good life.

Now back to our original problem…. how exactly to go about making money from home.

For many people all over the world the answer is simple… network marketing! I know, I know for a lot of people network marketing has almost become a dirty word but just hear me out. You see it’s not network marketing that people don’t like… really it’s not… it’s bad companies.

Over the years there have been more than a few companies out there that have used the name network marketing to cover up their illegal scams. Those companies have, unfortunately, given all of network marketing a bad name. That is unfortunate because there is NOTHING illegal, immoral or unethical about network marketing…. NOTHING!

At it’s core network marketing is extremely simple and extremely effective. You have a product, and instead of doing all the work yourself you bring a few other people into the business to help share the work load. Those people bring in a few people and those people bring in a few and before you know it you and your sales team have sold a LOT of product, and you’ve only done a fraction of the work. Not only is this business plan simple it’s SMART!

Almost all network marketing companies offer a type of income called residual income, and trust me that is the best income there is.

Residual income means you do the work one time and you continue to get paid on it month after month year after year. Sound good? IT IS! When you choose to become a part of a network marketing company you start building your residual income so that eventually you won’t have to work very much or even work at all!

The final reason so many people choose to build their businesses with network marketing is, there is already a structure and system in place. Network marketing companies are successful for the same reason McDonalds is successful. They can teach you to follow a simple system and if you follow the system you’ll get great results.

Yes, you COULD decide to start your own business from the ground up. However, the problem with that is that there isn’t already a system in place for you. Maybe you’ll succeed and maybe you won’t. When you find the right network marketing company for you your results are guaranteed! Just look at the successful people, follow their path to success and you’ll find it for yourself. Why try and re-invent the wheel? After all you probably want to work from home to make your life easier right?

Network marketing is a simple, totally legal and very profitable way to make money from home. Find the company that works best for you and start discovering the benefits of building an income with network marketing!

How To Be Successful In Network Marketing In The Next 12 Months: Part 1

This article is the first in a three part series intended to teach brand new network marketers how they can build a successful home based business part time in the next 12 months from start to finish.

So what’s the first thing you need to do in order to become incredibly successful working from home?

Obviously the first thing you’ll need to do is decided on which home based business is right for you. So that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about in this article. If you’ve already decided on a home based business you might want to go ahead and skip to part two.

Let’s get started…

There are many things you’ll need to consider when trying to find the right home based business for you. One of the major issues to consider is how much money you’re willing to pay to get started in a home based business. All home based businesses cost money to start. That’s why they’re businesses and not jobs. However, the start up costs can vary big time.

There are some businesses that cost thousands of dollars up front to join and some that cost as little as $10. However, you need to consider that starting a $10 business will more than likely only give you a little extra cash and probably not give you that healthy lifetime income many people are looking for.

Once you have decided on a budget you’ll want to think about the type of product you’ll be looking to market. Do you want a product like vitamins, make up or juice? Or a service like health benefits, an energy plan or a cell phone service? Whatever product you feel the most comfortable marketing you will be sure to find it because there is a network marketing company for just about everything under the sun.

Of course more important than finding the right product or start up cost is finding the right team to join. You want to be a part of a team that already has a strong system in place. Something that will allow you to just jump right in and start making money. You want strong leadership and someone who is passionate about helping others. If you can find all those things in one you’ve found the perfect business for you!

It’s important not to get pressured into anything. Just because a company is great for one person doesn’t mean it’s right for you so find the business that works best for you and your lifestyle and building your business will be a whole lot easier.

Whatever you do though, don’t spend all of your time trying to find the perfect company. While there is a perfect company FOR YOU there is no such thing as a flawless business. They all have their pros and cons so don’t be a fault finder and don’t wait forever and a day to get started in a business.

Take some time, do some research and then jump right in!

That’s all for this article but be sure to check out part two for information about how to promote your new home based business!

Chronicle Your Journey in Life and in Business

A lot of people in a home based business want to start at the beginning of their journey and hop straight to the end! But what we forget is that the steps in between A-Z are important and they can give others a whole lot of inspiration. That’s why it’s so important to be real and chronicle our home based business journey both good and bad! Here is why!

1. It can help people!

When you go to a home based business meeting as a new person or prospect and you can tend to look at all of those success stories as a little unbelievable. After all, there are only so many stories you can hear about someone being dead broke and now being incredibly rich before you start to believe that A) these stories can’t be real or B) I could never do anything like that!

When you leave out the middle part of your testimony you leave out a whole lot! People need to know that you’re a human being. They need to know that you struggled, that you doubted yourself, that you thought about quitting at times. It is stories like that that make where you ended up that much more impressive and real!

People will look at your story and say. Hey, if this person doubted themselves but still made $100,000 a year so can I!

By being honest about all the things that happened during your journey to success you’ll stop being a testimony and start being a real person and that will really inspire people!

2. It can help you!

Along with helping others with your story you can also help yourself by chronicling your journey to success. Being able to look back to where you started will help you see how far you’ve really come! Even if you’re not at your goal yet you’ll be able to see all the bumps in the road you’ve encountered and how you’ve been able to overcome each and every one of them!

3. It keeps things in perspective!

Now lets jump ahead to when you’ve reached your ultimate goal and you’re incredibly successful (because you know you’re gonna get there!) Having your story written out for you to look at will help you help others who might be going through the same struggles that you already conquered. Sometimes when we reach our goals we forget how hard it is when someone is still trying to do so. This will help you keep things in perspective and remember just how hard it was when you were trying to reach all of your goals! It will help you be a much better team leader.

Is Your Home Business Luke Warm?

As I type out this article I’m sitting in a coffee shop drinking a very hot cup of coffee. And it got me thinking about my home based business. When you’re building a business from home you either have to be scalding hot or chillingly cold. If you’re hot you’re going to do amazing things in your business. And if you’re cold you’re not going to do anything but at least you’re not kidding yourself into thinking that you are. The problem really lies with people who are neither hot nor cold. So I ask you today… when it comes to your home based business…. are you lukewarm?

You wouldn’t dream of taking a lukewarm shower or washing your dishes in lukewarm water or getting in a lukewarm hot tub would you? At the same time I doubt you’d want to swim in a lukewarm pool or drink a lukewarm glass of lemonade on a hot day.

When you think about it lukewarm really isn’t worth very much at all is it?

However, that’s exactly how so many of us are in our home based businesses. We sign up, we pay the money and we go to a meeting or two but we never really get entirely passionate or sold out for our business. We decide that we’re going to “give this thing a try” and somewhere along the way we forget to get excited about the opportunity that could change our lives forever.

Even Jesus spoke out about Luke warmness. In Revelation Jesus said “So because you are neither hot nor cold I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Now if that isn’t enough to convince you that being lukewarm is pointless I don’t know what will!

If you’ve been involved in your home based business for a while now but you’ve yet to really find serious success ask yourself this… are you lukewarm. Are you in the business but not really IN it?

If the answer is yes it’s time to heat things up! Get excited, get crazy, get passionate about your home based business. Or get out! When you’re on fire for your opportunity amazing things are possible. If not… well yo might as well not be in it at all.

Happily Unemployed!

What’s so great about a job anyway? That’s the question that’s been on my mind recently. I understand that jobs are what allow us to uh… buy stuff and live but there are other ways of making money that don’t include nosey co-workers, a boss, a stinky break room or a commute. I’m talking of course about working from home and anyone who has experienced the type of freedom that comes with working from home knows just how great it is and why if you’ve ever really gotten a taste you’d never want to go back to your job!

For those of us who are blessed enough to be happily unemployed the world is all about living. It’s not about barely getting by or trying to make time for our families it’s about doing what we want to do when we want to do it.

Jobs can be good if you’re doing something you’re really passionate about but for most people in America you’re working just to get a paycheck, and a measly paycheck at that.

That’s why building a home based business is so amazing. It allows you to work for a little bit and play a whole lot. Not to mention the fact that when you’re your own boss you’re free to make as much money as you want! You don’t have a boss telling you what you’re worth or that maybe you’ll get a raise sometime down the road you can give yourself raises! Isn’t that a concept!

Aside from the money a home based business gives you something that you can never make more of… time. Time with your kids, time with your spouse, time to yourself or time with your friends. Once it’s gone it’s gone. Little Leslie will only be 4 for one year and Adam will only have one first baseball game and once it’s over baby it’s over!

That’s what makes being your own boss so amazing. You never have to miss spending time with the people who matter most. Your life is YOURS so live it the way that you want to. Get more information about working from home today and start your way to being happily unemployed!

Should you pay to advertise your video on Youtube?

Youtube’s featured videos are a great way to get your marketing video more exposure. However, is it really worth paying the money for this method of advertising? While it might be a good move for someone who has a pretty healthy budget for advertising for the average internet marketer it might not be the best way to get good use out of your Youtube videos.

A featured video works sort of like a google pay per click ad. A Youtube user comes along and types in the search bar the type of videos that they want to see. And based on the keywords you have chosen your video will pop up at the top of their page.

This all sounds like a pretty good idea right? Well it is. I mean technically the service works well for what it is. However, there are a lot of other ways that you can get your video noticed without paying a dime for it!

The best way is of course keyword optimization. By using the right keywords for your tags, in your title, in your username, description and on your channel you can get virtually the same effect as a featured video. Say the keywords you are using are “home based business in California” and someone types those keywords into the search option of Youtube.

They’ll probably see your video and a few others that match. They’ll also probably see a couple featured videos. Now if the prospect clicks on your video you get charged nothing. However, if the prospect clicks on the featured video they get charged.

It just seems like a pretty simple deal to me that if you keyword your videos correctly you won’t need to pay the extra money to get views.

Remember that when you’re picking your keywords you’ll want to make them specific and pretty narrow. So rather than using the term “home based business” which will get you lots of competition you might try “best home based business” or something like that.

When you do this you just narrow the competition so that the prospect is more likely to see your video.

So don’t spend a lot of money on Youtube. Keep it free and still have great results with your video marketing by using keywords.

5 Ways to Work Smarter not Harder

Everyone in the world has just 24 hours in a day to get all of their business done. However, with work, kids, a spouse, taking care of a home and everything else we put on ourselves it seems we have much less time than ever. That’s why it’s so important to work smarter not harder. No matter how many hours you have each week to work on your home based business here are a few tips that will help you get the most out of your work time.

Tip Number One - Keywords!

Keywords are so important to the life of your online business. They are what will allow you to do something once and have people find it online for months and months and years and years. For example, you make a Youtube video talking about your business.

If you don’t use any keywords maybe a few people will stumble upon it and check it out. However, if you use the right keywords THOUSANDS of people might see that video. People can even be looking at your blog, video, website or articles while you’re sitting on a beach somewhere on vacation. Now that’s what I call working smarter!

Tip Number Two - Skip The Ads

While free online classifieds like Backpage and Craigslist are free of charge they don’t give you the most for your time because you have to do them over and over again in order for them to be effective. When working online you want to find things that you can do once and never have to do again.

Tip Number Three - Blog

It amazes me just how many people own a home based business but never take the time to make a blog or update it. A blog post should literally only take about 15 minutes, quick and simple. Even if you’re not a good writer you should be able to knock out a couple of blog posts a week and if you do it will pay off especially if you use keywords.

Tip Number Four - Articles

Once of the most tried and true methods of generating prospects online is article marketing. It’s free and if you’re not a good writer you can always buy home based business PLR articles that you can re-write a bit and us as your own. Article marketing might take a bit more time to submit to directories but they work so well because the articles stay up for years and years and will continue to grow your business for you even if you’re not working.

Tip Number Five - Take Small Breaks

You’ll be more effective, creative and work harder if you allow yourself small breaks while you’re working try giving yourself a 15 minute break ever hour and a half. Any longer and you might stop working all together, any shorter and it won’t really feel like a break at all.

Your Journey to Success

It’s a cold hard fact that when you begin your journey to success in a home based business you’re going to hear a few snickers here and there. You might even have people in your life who will down right laugh at you and tell you it’s not possible. However, if you can learn to ignore these negative influences you could end up having the last laugh yourself.

I don’t know exactly why it is that whenever people decide to do something that’s a little bit out of the ordinary it makes others so uncomfortable but it really does. People are comfortable with their jobs. Having a boss, having an office and having a steady paycheck are what 99% of the world deems to be safe and normal.

The idea of giving up all of that to start your own business might seem a little crazy to some people because they don’t fully understand it. There are people in the world who were simply born to be employees and there’s nothing wrong with that, you will just have to learn to ignore it when people question you because the rewards of working from home are more than worth it!

If you’ve ever been hurt by the negative feelings of friends or family you should take all of that negative energy and channel it into working even harder to prove them wrong. Nobody can argue with results and when people see that you’re making more money, driving a better can and all around living a better life they’ll be forced to eat their words.

There can not be rewards in life without taking some risks. It may seem right now that you’re doing something completely crazy but if you work hard and continue to grow you’ll start to see the results more and more and so will everyone else around you. Ignore what the negative voices tell you and you’ll end up laughing all the way to the bank.

Top 3 Types of Women in MLM

There are three very different types of women in the network marketing or home based business industry. Do you know what they are? Better yet do you know who YOU are? If not keep on reading to find out.

The Dreamers

The dreamers make up a lot of the network marketing industry and the truth is they aren’t limited to women. The dreamers are the people who say they want success but aren’t really ever going to go after it full force. Most dreamers will attend meetings and conference calls but they lack the courage or confidence to take their business to the next level. It’s sad because the dreamers could have an amazing future working from home but it is their fear and their self doubt that hold them back.

You have to watch out for the dreamers too because they have a tendency to bring people down with them. Once you’ve seen one dreamer you’ve seen them all and they’ll become very easy to spot. A whole lot of talking and pretty much zero action.

The Workers

The workers are women who work outside the home. They’re use to dealing with the business world and they’re savvy. The workers know what it takes to succeed in business and they’ll do whatever it takes to make it happen. They’re usually motivated by nice things like big homes, fancy cars and designer clothes. A worker is someone to be watched because they’re going places.

They might seem like a dreamer at times but the difference is they’re actually doing the work to back up their claims.

The Moms

The moms make up everything that is awesome about working from home. They’re able to build a business, keep up with their friends and be a great mom all at the same time.

The difference between a dreamer and a mom is that they, like the workers, won’t stop until they see their dreams become reality. They have a great “why” in their children and they’ll do anything they can to provide a great life for them. If you’ve got a hard working mom on your hands watch out!

So there are the three different types of women in MLM which one are you?

7 Reasons you Will Not Make Money in MLM this Year

The Top 7 Reasons Why You WON’T Make Money In MLM This Year

There are a lot of reasons why people fail in a home based business. And more often than not the reason why they fail has absolutely nothing to do with the company or the product. There are a few simple mistakes people can make that will stop them from making the money they deserve this year in their home based business. Here are the top 7 reasons why you won’t make money in MLM this year.

7. You’re too hard on yourself

Nobody is perfect and nobody knows every thing about everything when it comes to the product the compensation plan or the company history. So often we are just too stinking hard on ourselves. Give yourself a little wiggle room and understand that no one is perfect so when we screw up or don’t know the answer to something it doesn’t make us stupid it just makes us human.

6. You’re scared of the internet

If you’re reading this article chances are you at least know your way around the internet somewhat. However, so many people are scared to death to get online and that’s holding their business back. It’s the new millennium and everyone should be doing their business online!

5. You won’t set goals

If you want to accomplish anything in life you have to have goals. So if you’re not setting goals you’re not going to get very far. Write them down and know them well, they’ll help you through the tough times.

4. You’re wasting your money

You don’t have to buy expensive lists of leads or spend a lot of money on a newspaper ad to be successful. Some of the best prospects come from the internet and best of all they’re 100% free!

3. You’re keeping your business a secret

If you have a business you should be sharing it! Friends, family, and anyone else you know should be the first people you tell. Don’t be ashamed of what you’re doing. There is nothing shameful about trying to live a better life!

2. You’re no working enough

Just because you work part time from home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t work plenty of hours every week. 1 or 2 hours a week isn’t going to be enough to get you to your goals. At least not anytime soon. You should be working at least 15-20 hours every week and more if you want to get there faster!

1. You’re not fully committing

If you treat this like a hobby you’ll never make the kind of money that you could. You HAVE to treat your business like a business to see real results and you have to commit 100% to the system. Halfway just won’t cut it!

Improve yourself; Improve your business

Most people who are in a home based business are looking and searching for a way to take their business to the next level. If you want to do that you need look no further than looking at yourself. When you improve yourself you’ll totally be able to improve your business almost overnight.

It’s not always easy but it’s always worth it. Improving yourself doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with you or that you aren’t good at what you’re doing. But people should constantly be improving themselves if they want to continue to grow in their business.

So what are some ways that you can improve upon yourself? Maybe you need a boost in confidence. Many people do and when you bring your confidence to the next level your business won’t be able to stop it’s self from growing. Some people need to learn how to listen better or take direction.

Still others need to stop procrastinating. Whatever it is that you want to work on there are probably a ton of websites that you can visit for free or books and ebooks that you can purchase that will help you get where you want to go.

Try not to focus on improving 5 different things at once just work on one at a time and when you feel that you’ve mastered one move on to the other. Also, don’t just read a book and then forget about it. Really try to learn and retain what you’ve read and use it in your everyday life as well as your business.

You can also read a ton of books on how to be successful in business although, honestly most people need to be less focus on their business skills and more focused on their life skills.

Once you start to see an improvement in yourself an improvement in your check is soon to follow. So take a good hard look at yourself and start working to make yourself a better person because when you do you’ll see a whole lot more success in your home based business.

How Much Money Will I have to Spend to Work At Home

If you’re thinking about joining a home based business there are a few questions you’re probably asking yourself. Can I really do this? What will my spouse think? Which business is right for me? And of course… how much money will I have to spend to have success in a home based business?

All of these questions are important and should be thought about but I’d like to focus on the last one. Over time I’ve come across a lot of different people who want to work from home and almost all of them believe that working from home either has to be A) Free or B) extremely expensive. That’s why I’m here to tell you that it’s neither.

Let’s start with the first one because it really is a huge misconception that I want to bust right here and right now. There isn’t a business out there anywhere that you can start and not spend a dime. That my friends is called a JOB and there are plenty of them out there. A business always…. And I stress ALWAYS costs money to start.

You couldn’t open a clothing store or a restaurant without money up front right? Well a home based business is no different. I’ve read many an article saying that if a business asks you for money up front it’s a scam and that’s just so far from the truth it’s unreal. If you don’t invest some money you’re not in a business… period end of story.

They say it takes money to make money and that’s true so after your initial start up costs you may have to spend a little bit of money here and there just on basic marketing needs. Not a fortune but a little here and there.

That brings me to the second misconception. That starting a home based business costs a fortune. If you’re going to start your own business a home based business is the way to go. You won’t find another legitimate business you can start that will be any more cost effective. We’re talking less than $1000 here people. To start a real… honest…. Can make you filthy rich business! It just doesn’t get any better than that!

So in the question of how much money will it cost to make money from home here is my answer… less than $1000 to start (in many cases less than $500) and probably $50 - $100 a month to maintain. Now that’s a life changing opportunity that almost anyone can afford!

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Believe it or not even if you’re the most confident person you can think of you have a comfort zone. And more often than not that comfort zone can be holding you back from greatness. So it’s important that you find your comfort zone as soon as you can and learn how to get out of it. When you get out of your comfort zone there is no limit to what you can accomplish.

First of all everyone has a different comfort zone. Some people hate talking to strangers while other people don’t mind at all. Some people could sell anything to a stranger but hate trying to sell their friends or family. Whatever your particular comfort zone is it’s important to discover it and then leave it as quickly as you can.

Who knows exactly why we’re afraid to do certain things. Maybe we just care all too much what people really think of us. Maybe we just don’t want to make a mistake. But when you’re trying so hard not to make a mistake you usually don’t take very many chances and that’s a sure fire way to never reach your goals.

Business is all about taking chances, big, giant, sometimes even costly chances. None of the great companies in the U.S. would have been created without people who were willing to step outside of their comfort zone and take some chances. Maybe you’re not trying to invent the next Google or Microsoft but just the same you need to start taking more chances and getting a little uncomfortable if you really want that truly mind blowing, unbelievable success.

Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb… that’s where the fruit is!

Leave your comfort zone behind and start breaking new ground in your home based business. Remember, it’ll only feel uncomfortable until the money comes rolling in!

6 Reasons Why Working for the "Man" Sucks

If you have a regular job like most people do you know what I know… working for “the man” absolutely sucks! There is nothing like owning your own business and being your own boss and once you know just how great it is you’ll never go back to corporate America. However, for those of you who haven’t experienced the true bliss of being boss free here are a few reasons why working for “the man” or any man sucks!

6. Would you like some bread with that traffic jam

Long commutes are one of the worst things about having a job. When you work from home your commute is from the bed to the chair!

5. Paycheck… what paycheck?

When you have a job they can pay you whatever they want to pay you. Whether it’s what you’re really worth or not. When you work for yourself you can decide to make more or less. Want a raise? Just give yourself one!

4. Two words…. Dress code

Showing up to work in your pajama pants is probably not an option at your job. When you work from home ever day is casual Friday. VERY casual Friday.

3. Office politics

If you’re like me you’re not about sucking up to the boss to get ahead however in many work places that’s exactly what you have to do to become successful. If you’ve ever been passed over for a promotion you know you deserved you know just how annoying office politics can be!

2. No job is safe

As much as your boss will probably tell you that you’re a valuable assent to the company the truth is that you could literally lose your job at any time. Many people go into fields that they believe will help them have more job security but at the end of the day when you work for someone else you can never be 100% sure that your job is safe… ever!

And the number one reason why working for “the man” sucks is…

1. Your time isn’t your time!

When you have a job they own every single part of you but especially your time. Wouldn’t it be great to go to a movie in the middle of the day with your spouse? Or take a 3 week long vacation? Or just sleep in on a Wednesday?

When you work from home your time is truly your time and that’s something you’ll never be able to get when you work a job.

So that’s it! I hope you found this list enlightening. Working for yourself is the only way to go. I can’t wait to see you there!

4 Great Places to Work Outside Your Home

One of the great things about working from home is that you don’t have to STAY at home. Here are 4 different places that you can choose to work your home based business from!

1. A Coffee Shop

Coffee is the official drink of work isn’t it? It seems like no office would be complete without a big pot of coffee to keep their employees working hard. Many coffee places today offer free WiFi in their stores so you get the big comfy chairs, the relaxing atmosphere, free internet AND yummy coffee to keep you working… what’s not to like? It’s also a lot less expensive than working in a restaurant and they usually don’t mind if you set up shop for a couple of hours. It’s just the perfect spot for almost anyone.

2. Your Own Backyard

That might sound crazy but sometimes it’s not about being far, far away from home it’s just about getting outside for a while. If you sit outside with your laptop you can probably still pick up your internet signal from inside the house. You can watch the kids play, maybe get a tan and just enjoy the freedom that you wouldn’t have if you were stuck in a cubicle all day. A picnic table or some patio furniture and a glass of lemonade make this the perfect set up and it’s free!

3. The Mall

This one might seem a little out there for some people but sitting in the food court of a mall can be a great place to get some work done. Here’s why. There are lots of people buzzing around so if you’re writing a blog post or an article there is plenty of inspiration. Also, there’s nothing like going and checking out that pair of shoes or that outfit you want to motivate you to work a little harder. Of course if you’re the type of person who has to have quiet in order to get work done this is not the best option for you. But some people work best with a little noise around them and this is one of the best spots for that. Plus you have your choice of a bunch of different restaurants!

4. On The Beach

This really is the dream scenario isn’t it? Sitting on the beach (or in a cabin in the mountains that’s what you’re into) relaxing and enjoying the day and getting a little work done while you’re at it. Obviously most of us can’t do this one year round but your work just won’t seem as hard if you’re doing it while sipping a mai-tai and feeling the sand in your toes.

George Carlin

I have always been a Carlin fan and it was a shame the day he died. I think his views were right on and I wanted to share his remarks, this always makes me think....
GEORGE CARLIN (His wife recently died...and George followed her, dying July 2008)

Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life.
We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and les! s.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of ! quick tr ips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, ' I love you ' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Goals VS Dreams Which is Better!

When we were kids we all dreamed just a little bit more. We just knew that whatever it was that we wanted out of life really could happen. When we became teenagers we still had high hopes although our goals probably weren’t to be a princess or a football player.

And then the adult years set in and that’s what really killed out dreams. We stopped thinking about what we really wanted and started focusing on what we thought we could get.

Sure we’d like to live in a huge house but a medium sized one would do. Sure we’d love to drive that Mercedes but a Saturn would be ok. Why is it that by the time we’re out of school and into the real world we’ve completely lost our ability to really dream and dream big?

When you work from home you have the ability to take back the power of your dreams. That’s because anything really is possible when you own your own business. The success is not promised to you and it won’t happen overnight or without effort but, if you have the power to dream a home based business has the power to bring your wildest dreams to life!

There is an epidemic that has been sweeping across the globe for years and years. That epidemic is mediocrity and once it grabs hold of someone it’s hard to shake it. You absolutely do not have to be “sensible” or “average” or “ordinary”. With a home based business you can take back the power of becoming extraordinary.

You see, while your personal goals and dreams might not matter out there in the regular business world. They defiantly matter in a home based business. You can literally shape your life into whatever it is that you want it to be all you have to do is have a dream and work hard to make that dream come true.

Take back the power of dreaming and dreaming BIG. Find the home based business that’s right for you and you can start living the life you’ve always wanted to live. You can be ordinary or you can be extraordinary. The choice is yours.

Currency Trading

I am always interested in trading in currency and want to learn more, I found this article and thought it was very useful and information so I thought I would share.....

Global currency speculation and its implications

In the following excerpt from remarks at an International Forum on Globalisation (IFG) seminar, Bernard Lietaer focuses on the alarming increase in global currency speculation. The potential implications are truly explosive, threatening global power arrangements, the sovereignty of nation-states, and the abilities of ordinary people to survive.

IN 1975, about 80% of foreign exchange transactions (where one national currency is exchanged for another) were to conduct business in the real economy. For instance, currencies change hands to import oil, export cars, buy corporations, invest in portfolios, or build factories. Real transactions actually produce or trade goods and services. The remaining 20% of transactions in 1975 were speculative, which means that the sole purpose was an expected profit from buying and selling currencies themselves, based on their changing values. So, even in the days when the real economy was dominant, some currency speculation was going on. There had always been that little bit of frosting on the cake.

Today, the real economy in foreign exchange transactions is down to 2.5% and 97.5% is now speculative. What had been the frosting has become the cake. The real economy has become just a small percentage of total financial currency activity.

My estimate is that in 1997 we will have close to $2 trillion in currencies being traded per day. This is equivalent to the entire annual gross domestic product (GDP) volume of the United States being turned over via currency trading every three days.

There are three cumulative causes for this explosive increase in currency speculation:

Systemic redefinition: The first important act was US President Richard Nixon's unleashing of the dollar from the gold standard in 1971. 'Floating' the dollar allowed currency values to be determined by traders in currency exchange markets. Currencies from countries with strong economies and sound monetary and fiscal policies were given more value than currencies from countries with shaky or weak economies and policies. This'opening' of the system created a framework for the speculation game.

Legal deregulation: In the 1980s, both former President Ronald Reagan and former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher introduced deregulation strategies. The Baker Plan, implemented by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), applied those changes to a dozen key Third World countries. This created a lot more leeway for movement of capital internationally, and for corporations that previously would not have participated in speculation.

Technology: The structural, deep-lying phenomenon behind the whole system, is the technological shift: the electronification of money and the computerisation of market systems.

The Business Viewpoint

Economic textbooks say that corporations and individuals compete for markets and resources. This is not true. Corporations and individuals compete for money by using markets and resources.

The opening of the system, which led to 'floating exchanges', also created a new asset class. Traditional asset classes are real estate, bonds, stocks, and commodities. Today, we also have currencies. This means that money, the medium of exchange, has itself become an asset to be played into investment portfolios. This shift has different implications for businesses, depending on whether you're an investor or a 'real' business.

From an investor's viewpoint, this new asset class - currencies - has some significant advantages over the old ones:

Extraordinarily low transaction costs. Placing a few billion dollars in foreign exchange costs very little; as much as 10 or 20 times cheaper than a stock transaction.

Twenty-four-hour market environment; one can actually play around the clock.

The foreign currency market is the largest and deepest market around by a long shot. If you have a few billion dollars to place, bringing them to the stock market is going to move the stock's value and tip off other traders as to what you are doing. This is true in most bond markets (except for the US and some European markets because of their large size). In foreign exchange, even $5 or $10 billion won't make a blip. So if you have a substantial amount of money to move around, this is the place to do it. You can get in and out without affecting the market.

Because of these three advantages, the act of lending money to people (to buy houses, cars, expand businesses or whatever) is no longer the best way to make money. The foreign currency market is the place to do it. Banks are no longer the big players in terms of supplying credit. In the last 25 years, banks, as a source of financing in America, have dropped from 75% of the total supply of credit to 26.5%. For the major international banks, like Chase Manhattan, Citicorp, Bank of America, Barclays, or Sumitomo, currency trading typically accounts for at least 20% of total earnings. In a good year, it will be more than 50%.

'Foreign exchange risk'

In considering the viewpoint of so-called real businesses (those that make cars, mine, produce electronics, etc.), the 'foreign exchange risk' has by far become the largest risk in international business today, often larger than political or market risk. For example, if a German chemical company invests in a plant in India, it makes the investment in deutsch-marks. The chemical products sold locally from that plant are paid in rupees, India's currency. If the value of the rupee then drops in terms of the deutschmark, the return on the original investment will drop as well. In short, the biggest risk of such investments is not whether Indians will buy the chemicals (market risk) or whether the Indian government will nationalise the plant (political risk), but the changes in the values of the currencies involved (foreign exchange risk).

Corporations have followed two major strategies to deal with this risk.

The first strategy is the reorganisation of the corporate conglomerate. Production and marketing sectors are decentralizing because the risk doesn't lie there, and because adaptation to local circumstances can best be handled on a local level. This also leads to the dispersal of production facilities to other countries. But while marketing and production are decentralising, the corporation's financial and treasury functions are being centralised. Twenty or 30 years ago, when an American company had a big plant in Germany, the plant would handle its own finances. Not any more. Now, this is all done centrally at corporate headquarters.

The second strategy that large corporations pursue is an adjustment of their executive officers. In the 1940s and 1950s, anybody who could manufacture any product could sell it. So, a manager with a background in production or engineering would typically be made the CEO. In the 1960s and the 1970s, that shifted. Suddenly marketing was the key background necessary for people at the top. However, in the 1980s and 1990s, finance specialists are in charge. They are the ones who call the shots. That shift in career paths has also changed the corporation's outlook, and is a reaction to the new risk that we are talking about.

Now, I have two questions for you: First: Who do you think is the largest private financial institution in the US today? It is General Electric (GE). The largest profit sector in GE is not defence, not light bulbs, not power stations. It is GE's treasury department, because of its many financial transactions.

The second question is: Who do you think is taking the largest foreign exchange risk? It's everybody who holds only one currency. That is, most people. Anyone who owns their own house, which sits in one currency (like dollars, deutschmarks, or yen), and who has their savings and income in that same currency, is at the greatest risk. By holding only one currency, they risk all their assets being devalued in the event of their currency crashing. In a world of floating exchanges, not being diversified in currencies is like having a stock portfolio with only one stock.

Three Consequences

The first consequence of this state of affairs is that national governments are in the process of losing power. The nation-state is the one entity that cannot manage in this new climate. It has no way to gain power against global capital and information technology.

Currency traders are effectively 'policing' governments by selling off a nation's currency when they are dissatisfied with that government's policies. If enough traders act together, the value of a currency can plummet, creating a 'currency crisis'. These sudden large sell-offs are viewed by governments as 'attacks' on the value of their currencies.

Currency devalution can happen in a very short time, days or even hours, because of the new global communications system. There are no negotiations, there's no talking, there's nobody sitting around a table saying, 'This is what we're going to do,' or, 'How about re-negotiating this part?' That's not the way it happens. You just suddenly end up with a crisis in a particular country's currency. Such was the case with the collapse of the British pound sterling in 1991, the Scandinavian currencies in 1992 and 1993, and Mexico in 1994.

One of the things to watch for in the future will be such a devaluation of (an 'attack' on) the US dollar, which is the linchpin of the whole system. Now, one might ask, 'Why would traders want to pull out the linchpin?' Well, from an individual trader's point of view, it doesn't matter which currency you profit from, you just trade. If enough traders see an opportunity to profit by the dollar's fluctuations, they will exploit it because nobody believes that his or her individual action will bring down the entire system.

Central banks can often intervene when a currency is under attack by either buying or selling to counter speculators. But the volumes of money now being traded are so vast that even central banks may not have an impact. All the reserves of all the central banks together amount to about $640 billion, so all their reserves could be depleted in a third of a normal trading day.

This points directly to a second consequence: a growing interest in market instability because that is where one finds the opportunity for windfall profits. Big fluctuations in the values of currencies allow for big profits to be made by trading them. Consider the following statements by leaders at opposite ends of the spectrum:

'The biggest concern today is the growing constituency for instability.' - Paul Volcker, ex-governor of the Federal Reserve, in Changing Fortunes.

'Instability is cumulative, so that the eventual breakdown of freely floating exchanges is ensured.' - George Soros, the largest currency speculator today, in The Alchemy of Finance.

They both agree that there are many more people now who have an interest in profiting from instability; previously, they had an interest in stability. If you have an unstable system, it is just a question of when it will fly off the handle. It will blow apart at the moment when the US dollar experiences a crisis. When the dollar crisis occurs, the world will have no system left.

The only precedent I know is the collapse of the Roman monetary system. In the 1929 crash, the monetary system held. We had all kinds of other problems - unemployment, stock market crashes, currency inflation in Germany - but there was a gold standard that held. Today, we have no gold standard to fall back on. So there is no precedent for a collapse of this nature. And this would be a truly global phenomenon. All currencies in the world are based on the dollar. So if you have a crisis on the dollar, you pull out the linchpin and... boom.

The third consequence is some thing with which you are very familiar. As a great portion of the national currencies - about $2 trillion per day - is being turned around in the financial cyber-economy, there is just no satisfactory medium of exchange available to people at the bottom. National currencies are not widely available to the poorer parts of the population. The age of labour as a key component of production is gone. If you don't have a job, you don't have 'money' (i.e., national currency). Even despite the fact that structural unemployment is increasing, the economy can continue to 'grow' very well. Technology will shift us still further in that direction.

What is beginning to happen in the developed countries is a new phenomenon: an explosion of 'local currencies' - money that is not the national currency. We haven't seen this since the Great Depression when there were literally thousands of local currencies in the US and other countries affected by massive unemployment. By supporting the development of local money schemes, we may in fact create the groundwork for the next system. This could become one of the most powerful ways available to support citizen control.

Economic Justice

I wish all companies followed this principle!

Economic justice can be best summarized by the popular adage, “It must be a win-win.” Every transaction should benefit all parties involved. Justice requires that borrowers receive something of value for the fees they pay. The items or services received must also be worth what they are paying for them.
A practical application of the principle of economic justice is the tangible benefit test now being required in many states. Regulators require that a lender be able to demonstrate that a borrower has benefited from a refinance transaction. That benefit can be in the form of a lower interest rate, a beneficial change in term, a lower payment, or cash received to pay bills.

The fees charged in order to provide the benefit received must also be reasonable for the principle of economic justice to work. A borrower might receive a bill consolidation loan, but if the fees charged are greater than the interest they will save from the consolidation, they have not benefited. The transaction was not just.

Most states have accepted the industry standard of two years when considering whether closing costs can be recouped in a timely manner. If a borrower will not recover the costs within two years, some other tangible benefit must be demonstrated.

Ground Floor vs Established Company

If you are in the process of trying to find the best home based business for you you’re going to be faced with a lot of different choices. One of the biggest things you will have to decide is if you want to go with an older more established company or a newer ground floor company. There are pros and cons to each decision and it will be up to you to decide what’s best for you. This article is designed to give you the information you need to make an informed decision.

Many people are of the opinion that an older more established company is going to be your best choice. Their reasoning is that if a company has lasted 5, 10 or 15 plus years it must be a good opportunity right? In many ways that is absolutely true the chances of an older company going out of business after 10 years or so is very unlikely. Another great thing about an older company is that there will be plenty of training and success stories available to you when you get started.

The downside of an older company is that most people who are making the big bucks are people who have been in the company for a very long time. This is of course not always the case and it is completely possible to come into an older company and make a very large income, it’s really up to how hard you are willing to work.

The upside to starting in a newer company is that the opportunity is wide open. The market hasn’t been saturated and there is a good chance that if you work hard you could be one of the top earners since there are fewer people in the beginning. This is a huge draw for many people who are hungry to get in in the beginning and have the biggest opportunity possible.

The downside to a new company is that if they aren’t run the right way they might not be around forever and that can be scary for some people. Another down side is that there aren’t going to be as many tools to help you succeed right away and you certainly won’t have as many success stories at least not for a while.

If you’re a risk taker who wants to make the most money possible and enjoys breaking new ground than a ground floor opportunity is probably right for you. If you’re looking for a more sure thing with more support an older more established company is probably more your style.

Choose the company that is best for you but just know that whatever opportunity you choose the key to success really lies with you!

Keywords to Market Your Business

If you are marketing your home based business online few things are more important to you than keywords.

Keywords can help many, many people find your information online and that means more sales and income for you!

So what is a keyword?

Have you ever used Yahoo or Google? If not you’re one of the only people on the planet. Search engines like Google allow users to search for the specific things they want to find online. You just type a word or a phrase into the box and boom! Page after page of results!

So a keyword is the word or phrase that people will use to find your website on the internet.

It just amazes me how many home based business owners put up good looking, awesome websites but don’t promote it at all. How do they ever expect people to find it that way?

By using keywords correctly the people who are searching on the internet (and there are a lot of them!) for a home based business will be able to yours faster.

Finding the keyword or keywords that you want to target can be a little more challenging. Many people assume that they should just use the phrase “home based business” but that’s not really the best way to go.

The problem with a really broad keyword like “home based business” is that everyone under the sun is using it so your competition is going to be huge. The most effective way to use a keyword is to use a smaller niche market like “Texas home based business opportunity” or “Chicago work from home business for moms” while there will be less people searching for those particular terms the ones who are searching for them will be sure to find your websites, you won’t be as lost in the crowd so to speak.

Once you figure out which keywords you want to target just make sure you use that particular phrase as much as possible. Use it in articles, on your website, on your business blog, as titles for your videos, everywhere you can imagine.

Don’t use them to the point where you’re just stuffing the phrase in where it doesn’t belong but use it enough so that the search engines will pick it up and put your link on their first few pages!

By using keywords correctly you will get lots more traffic to your website and that means more profits for you!

Free Online Marketing tips

As a home based business owner I am a firm believer that the best type of marketing is always free marketing. You don’t have to spend a ton of money on newspaper ads or commercials on the local radio station to have a huge amount of leads for you home based business every single month. In fact, you can get all the leads you want without spending any money on marketing at all.

The internet is the best invention of all time for the home based business owner because it allows you to market like a pro without breaking the bank.

If you’re new to internet marketing let me start at the very beginning. The first thing you’ll need to successfully market your opportunity online is a website. Many home based businesses offer websites to their business owners. However, it is most effective if you use a website you make yourself. It doesn’t have to be flashy or complicated just a simple site. But here is the key, it has to capture a name and email address.

You’ve probably heard the phrase “the money is in the list” right? Well it’s true. By capturing your prospects name and email address when they visit your site you will have the opportunity to market to them for days, weeks and months to come.

If you don’t capture their information you run the risk of losing their business forever. So don’t make that mistake.

Once you have your website set up it’s all about marketing that website online. You can have the greatest website in the world but if nobody knows about it it doesn’t do you any good right?

A good place marketing your website is on a social networking site like Myspace.com.

Myspace is extremely popular with teenagers and young adults but many, many home based business owners benefit from it as well. Myspace is simply a great place to meet people and best of all it’s absolutely free to use so you can’t lose. Even if you make a mistake or two in the beginning it’s not like you’ve wasted any money. Just correct it and move on.

Forums are another great place to market your business online. Simply do a google search for “home based business forum” or “mlm forum” and you’ll find a ton of them! Forums are a great place to meet people who want to work from home as network with people who already do, and just like Myspace forum marketing is free!

Video marketing is also extremely popular right now and sites like Youtube.com make it super easy. Just shoot a simple video and upload it for free on Youtube. There are also lots and lots of other video websites out there so you get lots of traffic out of just one or two videos.

Another great form of online marketing is article marketing. (Hey you’re reading an article right now so I guess it works!)

Article directories are free to post on and you don’t have to be an established author or an English major to benefit from it.

Finally, if you really want to get as many people to check out your website as possible you can’t go wrong with free advertising sites like Craigslist.com or Backpage.com these sites are free to post on and will get you a ton of visits to your website. Just remember that unlike posting an ad in the newspaper you’ll need to post on online advertising sites several times a week to get the most out of it.

Free online marketing is an awesome thing. Do your research and learn how to get the most out of the different techniques that I’ve talked about in this article and you’ll be generating more prospects than you can handle!
